What is the contract value of Boysen Dam?
Boysen Dam is a 220-foot-high earth-and-rockfill structure on Wyoming's Wind River, built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation as part of the Boysen Unit of the Pick-Sloan Missouri River Basin Program. Work on the dam, powerplant and associated railway relocation began in 1947, with the project completed in 1952. The 1,143-foot crest impounds Boysen Reservoir for irrigation, flood control, hydropower and recreation; its two-generator powerplant has 15 MW of installed capacity. Reclamation records $18,476,405 as the final value of the main construction contract for the dam, powerplant and related railway works. That figure is not a verified all-in cost for every Boysen Unit contract or the older Boysen Dam downstream.
