What was the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas resort’s reported development cost when it opened in 2010?
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is a two-tower resort on the Las Vegas Strip that opened to guests on 15 December 2010. When construction began in October 2005, its initial development estimate was $1.8 billion. After foreclosure, redesigns and completion under Deutsche Bank ownership, contemporaneous reporting put the resort’s final development cost at $3.9 billion. The latter is a reported project cost, not a later sale valuation or a sum of separate loan figures. The resort was planned with 2,995 rooms, although only about two-thirds were ready at its soft opening.
