The Kainji Dam is the concrete gravity dam, about 65 to 68 m high and 550 m long, on the Niger River in Nigeria, forming Lake Kainji of 1,400 square kilometres and a power station that reached its full 760 MW in 1978, with a navigation lock, built by the Italian contractor Impregilo from 1964 and completed in 1968 to 1969. The 1996 World Bank review of large dams says the total project costs of the Kainji Multipurpose Project were 568 million dollars, of which four Bank loans contributed 218 million, while Wikipedia gives a total cost of 209 million dollars, about one quarter of it for resettlement.
