How much does Rogun Dam cost?

The Rogun Hydropower Project on the Vakhsh River in Tajikistan is a planned 3,780 MW plant of six 630 MW turbines behind what would be the world's tallest dam, begun in the Soviet period in 1976, restarted after independence and built since 2016 under Webuild, with two units commissioned in 2018 and 2019. The World Bank's June 2023 project information document says the government spent about USD 3.3 billion in 2007-2022 and needs another USD 6.1 billion of capital cost to complete it, and The Times of Central Asia (September 2025) cites an estimate of USD 6.4 billion to complete with full commissioning expected by 2029.
