How much did 40 Wall Street cost to build?
40 Wall Street was completed in 1930 as the Manhattan Company Building, a 927-foot Art Deco office tower in New York's Financial District. Built in roughly one year during the race for the world's tallest building, it was ready for occupancy in May 1930. A contemporary retrospective put the all-in project cost at $24 million; a surviving cost schedule separately identifies land, building work, professional fees and lease commissions.
