How much did the refurbishment of A4 Hammersmith Flyover refurbishment cost?
The A4 Hammersmith Flyover refurbishment restored a 622-metre, 16-span post-tensioned concrete structure carrying the main road between central London and Heathrow. Severe corrosion of the original tendons forced an emergency closure in December 2011. Five critical spans were strengthened in the first phase, followed from October 2013 by a full second-phase programme covering the remaining spans, new post-tensioning, bearings, expansion joints, waterproofing, drainage and resurfacing. Transport for London announced the GBP 100 million refurbishment complete on 4 September 2015.
