How much did Adams Express Building cost to build?
The Adams Express Building is an early steel-framed office skyscraper at 61 Broadway in Lower Manhattan, extending through the block to Trinity Place. Francis H. Kimball designed the 32-story tower for a development syndicate led by Robert E. Dowling. Contemporary reporting shows that construction was under way in 1912 and that the building was erected by 1914. Its sheer, setback-free mass predates New York City's 1916 zoning resolution.
