Road or highway 路 United States
How much did Angeles Crest Highway cost to build?
Angeles Crest Highway crosses the San Gabriel Mountains between La Ca帽ada and the Big Pines recreation area in Southern California. California's Division of Highways began construction in 1929, paused work during World War II, and completed the original 55-mile mountain road in 1956 after almost three decades of state, federal and prison-camp labour. The highway opened on 8 November 1956 and later became the scenic mountain section of State Route 2. Its exposed slopes make storm, landslide and wildfire repairs a recurring part of the road's history.
