Road or highway 路 United States

How much did Arroyo Seco Parkway cost to build?

The Arroyo Seco Parkway began as a landscaped, limited-access road linking Pasadena and Los Angeles. Work on the original section started in 1938, and California dedicated it on 30 December 1940 as an early model for the state's freeway network. The National Park Service describes that first link as 6.2 miles long. The road was extended south in later years to the Four Level Interchange; those later works are not included in the $5.75 million price reported at the 1940 dedication.
