What was the contract price for Athens Metro Line 4's first section?

Athens Metro Line 4's first phase is a 12.8-kilometre underground railway from Alsos Veikou to Goudi with 15 new stations and 20 planned automatic trains. The main civil-works and systems contract was signed on 22 June 2021 at approximately EUR 1.2 billion excluding VAT. An earlier EUR 1.51 billion programme budget also allowed for contingencies, price revision and cost-plus work; it is not a second construction contract. The European Investment Bank announced a separate EUR 580 million loan in 2022. Tunnelling and station works remained under way in 2026, when the project owner stated an objective to finish by 2032. These figures describe the first section, not the entire eventual multi-section Line 4.
