How much does Barcelona — L9/10 cost?

Barcelona's driverless L9/L10 metro network connects the northern and southern suburbs through a shared central corridor. The current Generalitat plan covers about 48 km and 50 stations: 38 km were in service by June 2026, while a 10 km central section with 12 stations was still being built. Construction began in 2003 and the first section opened in December 2009; the remaining stations are planned to open in phases through 2032. A 2025 ministerial forecast put total investment at €6.271 billion. That forecast should not be equated with the auditor's €6.916 billion 2016 construction-cost snapshot, which included €2.120 billion of financing costs and did not represent a completed network.
