Road or highway 路 United States
How much did Bayshore Freeway cost to build?
The Bayshore Freeway carries US 101 along the western shore of San Francisco Bay between San Jose and San Francisco. It grew from the older surface-level Bayshore Highway into a divided, grade-separated freeway in stages; the final San Jose link opened in February 1962. The reported $114.6 million is the cost of that freeway conversion, not the cost of the original 1920s?1930s highway, and it already includes $42.5 million spent acquiring right-of-way.
