How much did the extension of Berlin — U2 — U2 to Pankow cost?

The U2 extension from Vinetastra?e to Pankow connected Berlin's underground line with the Pankow S-Bahn station and opened on 16 September 2000. Work began with a groundbreaking on 13 June 1997. The project built 391.5 metres of new track and reused more than 400 metres of existing infrastructure; it also created the new Pankow U-Bahn station with a direct interchange. Shortly before opening, operator BVG told Berliner Zeitung that the works would cost about 105 million Deutsche Mark, below the previously budgeted 126 million marks. The contemporaneous amounts were reported in marks, not euros: the euro equivalent is a fixed-currency conversion, while the US-dollar equivalent depends on the exchange rate used. This is the short Pankow extension, not the cost or length of the whole U2 line.
