How much did BNY Mellon Center cost to build?

BNY Mellon Center is a 221-metre office tower at 500 Grant Street in downtown Pittsburgh, developed by U.S. Steel as the proposed Dravo headquarters and later known as One Mellon Center. A contemporary December 1980 report described the building as expected to cost more than US$100 million; that was a construction-era estimate, not a verified final bill. The Council on Vertical Urbanism records 54 main floors, 157,934 square metres of gross tower floor area and 1983 completion. Mellon reported taking a long-term lease in 1983. Later tax assessments and property transactions measure different things and are not building costs.
