How much did Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line cost to build?
Moscow's Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line (Big Circle Line) is a metro ring built outside the older Koltsevaya Line. Its first section opened in February 2018, and trains began running around the complete circle on 1 March 2023. Moscow's transport authorities described the completed project as 70 km with 31 stations, including 29 on the ring and two on a branch towards Moscow City. The branch stations were later reassigned to another metro line, so station and length figures depend on whether the historic branch is counted. In March 2023 the city said it had spent RUB 778 billion on the metro lines and stations and adjacent infrastructure associated with the Big Circle Line; that wider spending figure is not a line-only construction invoice. Earlier RUB 378.9 billion and RUB 501 billion figures were estimates made in 2017, not final expenditure.
