How much does the refurbishment of Broadgate Tower cost?
Broadgate Tower is an office skyscraper in London's Broadgate estate, built above the railway approaches to Liverpool Street station and completed in 2008. The tower's steel A-frame helps transfer its loads around the existing rail infrastructure. Its architectural height is 161.3 metres and its tower gross floor area is 56,878 square metres. British Land committed to a separate GBP 100 million refurbishment in 2025, covering a new pavilion, terraces, public realm, office-floor upgrades and an air-source heat pump. Its 2026 annual report expected the refurbishment to finish in early 2027; the original building had already been completed nearly two decades earlier. A historical GBP 240 million reported tower cost is a different claim from the refurbishment budget and from British Land's combined estimate for the tower and neighbouring 201 Bishopsgate.
