How much does the extension of C Line Extension cost?

The K Line Extension to Torrance, formerly the C Line Extension, is the planned 4.5-mile extension of the Los Angeles Metro light rail from the Redondo Beach station to the Torrance Transit Center in the South Bay of California, whose Metro board on 22 January 2026 unanimously approved the elevated Hawthorne Boulevard alignment instead of the staff-recommended hybrid. CBS Los Angeles reported on 23 January 2026 that Metro has half of the 3.4 billion dollars of funding needed for the Hawthorne Boulevard plan.
