What is the contract value of Dubai Metro Blue Line?
The Dubai Metro Blue Line is a 30 km rapid-transit project under construction in Dubai, connecting the existing Red and Green lines through two branches and 14 stations. RTA's approved 2023 investment estimate was AED 18 billion; its December 2024 design-and-build contract award to the MAPA–LIMAK–CRRC consortium was AED 20.5 billion. These are successive whole-project price claims, not amounts to add together or final construction expenditure. The alignment includes 15.5 km underground and 14.5 km above ground, including a 1.3 km crossing of Dubai Creek. RTA marked the implementation start in June 2025 and, in May 2026, reported the project 20% complete with passenger opening planned for 9 September 2029.
