How much did East Side Access (Grand Central Madison) cost?

East Side Access (Grand Central Madison) is the project that brought Long Island Rail Road trains to a new eight-track terminal 150 feet below Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan through about eight miles of new tunnels and the existing 63rd Street tunnel, built by the MTA from 2002 or 2007 and opened to passengers in January 2023, more than a decade late. Gothamist wrote on opening day that federal records show a final price tag of 11.6 billion dollars, including future plans to buy more train cars.
