How much does East West Rail Link cost?
East West Rail is the project to re-establish a railway between Oxford and Cambridge in England, with connection stage 1 from Oxford to Bicester, Bletchley and Milton Keynes largely built, and stages 2 and 3 from Bletchley to Bedford and on to Cambridge still being planned, delivered by East West Railway Company for the Department for Transport. The National Audit Office reported on 13 December 2023 that the Department estimates the cost of the project at between 5.7 billion and 6.6 billion pounds, with 1.121 billion spent by March 2023.
