What is the approved budget of Line R1 (Xiamen Metro)?
Line R1 of the Xiamen Metro is the Quanzhou-Xiamen-Zhangzhou intercity railway, a 175.04 km main line with a design speed of 160 km/h running from Quanzhou East station through Xiamen to Jintang in Zhangzhou, with 30 stations (14 elevated, 16 underground) and 4 reserved, split into a Quanzhou section of 71.15 km, a Xiamen section of about 53 km and a Zhangzhou section of about 50 km. Straits Metropolis Daily reported on 28 May 2026 a total investment of CNY 67.983 billion, as did Sina Finance in July 2026, when the Quanzhou section was about to start in full.
