How much does Morrissey Boulevard cost?
Morrissey Boulevard is the flood-prone state road along Boston's Dorchester Bay between Neponset Circle and South Boston's Preble Circle, for which a state commission is planning a redesign with flood mitigation, intersection redesigns and transportation improvements, with construction not expected to begin until 2029 or 2030. The Dorchester Reporter reported on 7 March 2025 that the commission's draft final report put the cost of the full modernization at USD 235 million to USD 304 million over five years, lower than the USD 273 million to USD 352 million presented in November 2024, both excluding the Beades drawbridge replacement (up to USD 122 million) and the Kosciuszko Circle rotary.
