How much did both phases of the Mumbai Monorail cost?

The Mumbai Monorail is India's first monorail system, a fully elevated line of about 19.54 km with 17 stations from Chembur via Wadala to Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk, proposed by the MMRDA in 2005 with construction beginning in January 2009. Phase 1 (Chembur to Wadala Depot, 8.8 km) opened on 2 February 2014 and Phase 2 (Wadala to Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk, 11.2 km) on 4 March 2019, after the MMRDA terminated the Larsen and Toubro-Scomi contract and took over operations in December 2018. PropNewsTime and Wikipedia give the total cost of both phases as about INR 3,000 crore, whereas Metro Rail News (July 2025) quotes INR 2,460 crore excluding taxes.
