How much does New Orleans–Baton Rouge passenger rail cost?

The New Orleans-Baton Rouge passenger rail is a proposed intercity service of two daily trips at up to 79 mph over existing freight track, part of the federally designated Gulf Coast high-speed rail corridor, with no construction started. The Southern Rail Commission cites an infrastructure cost of USD 260 million from the 2014 feasibility study (updated in October 2023), while WWNO reported in November 2022 a preliminary USD 250 to 300 million for upgrades, of which USD 80 to 100 million would rebuild the Bonnet Carre Spillway bridge, and a USD 20 million RAISE grant of August 2022 funds the Baton Rouge and Gonzales stations.
