What is the approved budget of Pink Line?

The Pink Line of the Kolkata Metro is a 12.5 km line with 11 stations along BT Road between Baranagar and Barrackpore in northern Kolkata, sanctioned in 2009-10 at INR 2,069.6 crore, with a detailed project report in 2011 but stalled for over 16 years by unresolved underground water pipelines of the Palta to Tallah supply network. Swarajya reported on 30 July 2026 that Rail Vikas Nigam Limited invited bids for 10 elevated stations and a viaduct worth INR 1,587.39 crore, so the line is still unbuilt.
