How much does the modernization of Red and Purple Modernization Phase One Project cost?

The Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) Phase One project of the Chicago Transit Authority replaced just over two miles of 100-year-old elevated track between Lawrence and Bryn Mawr, rebuilt the Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn and Bryn Mawr stations as fully accessible, built the Red-Purple Bypass for the Brown Line and installed 11 miles of new signalling, with the groundbreaking on 2 October 2019 and the Walsh-Fluor design-build team reaching substantial completion on 1 July 2026 with final completion due in November 2026. Mass Transit (October 2019) and Fluor (July 2026) both give the project value as USD 2.1 billion, funded in part by a USD 957 million FTA Full Funding Grant Agreement.
