How much does Santiago Metro Line 8 cost?

Santiago Metro Line 8 is a planned 19-km underground line with 14 new stations linking Providencia with Puente Alto through Ñuñoa, Macul, Peñalolén and La Florida, to be built with the New Austrian Tunnelling Method and expected to cut the trip between the ends from about 57 to 23 minutes. T13 and Pauta both report an investment of about USD 1.9 billion after the regional environmental commission unanimously approved the project on 6 May 2026, with a first stage of 11 stations from Puente Alto to Chile España opening in 2032 and the extension to Los Leones in 2033.
