How much does Toyookadaruma Station cost?
Toyookadaruma Station (Toyooka-Daruma) is a new two-platform, two-track unstaffed station on JR East's Shin'etsu Main Line between Kita-Takasaki and Gunma-Yahata in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, named after the town's famous daruma dolls. It is a petitioned station paid for by Takasaki City, with 125 m platforms, simple Suica gates, about 120 parking spaces and an access road and bridge under planning. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on 22 February 2025 and opening is scheduled for March 2027; Wikipedia, citing the Asahi Shimbun, gives the total cost as about JPY 3 billion.
