How much does Tren Melipilla-Estación Central cost?
The Santiago-Melipilla train (Tren Alameda-Melipilla) is a new electric commuter railway of EFE Trenes de Chile that revives the 1893 line from Estación Central in Santiago to Melipilla, 61 km long with 11 stations across eight municipalities (Estación Central, Cerrillos, Maipú, Padre Hurtado, Peñaflor, Talagante, El Monte and Melipilla), 22 electric trains and about 57 million passengers a year. EFE officially started works in November 2025 with an investment of USD 1,900 million, the first Talagante-Lo Errázuriz segment is expected from late 2027 to 2029 and the whole line by 2029-2030.
