How much was set aside for the West Side Highway Replacement Project in Manhattan?

The West Side Highway (NY 9A) runs along Manhattan's Hudson River waterfront; the elevated Miller Highway of the 1930s collapsed in disrepair and the .1 billion Westway buried-highway plan of 1981 was cancelled in 1985. After that, $811 million was set aside for the West Side Highway Replacement Project, a surface boulevard from the Battery to 59th Street with a promenade and bikeway, completed in August 2001 and rebuilt in places after 11 September 2001. The Miller Highway had been planned in 1926 at $11 million.
