What is the approved budget of Winston-Salem Northern Beltway?

The Winston-Salem Northern Beltway is a planned 34.5-mile freeway loop around the north of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, from US 158 southwest of the city to I-74 southeast of it, built as two State Transportation Improvement Program projects: the Eastern Loop (U-2579, part of I-74) and the Western Loop (R-2247, to become I-274). The Eastern Loop was finished in phases from 2020 to 2026, with the last 3-mile segments between US 421 and I-74 opening in September 2026 after $387 million of work; the Western Loop has not been built. NCDOT lists the whole beltway as funded for $1.74 billion.
