How much did the World Trade Center Transportation Hub cost to build?

The World Trade Center Transportation Hub is the Port Authority's PATH and subway interchange at the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan, whose centrepiece is Santiago Calatrava's Oculus transit hall. Calatrava was hired in 2004 for a design then priced at about $2 billion, and the hub opened on 3 March 2016, about twelve years after the design was unveiled and years behind the 2009 target, at a reported cost of about $4 billion in public funds, roughly double the original figure. It replaced the temporary PATH station that opened in November 2003.
