Stadium 路 Syria

How much did Aleppo International Stadium cost to build?

Aleppo International Stadium is the fully covered main venue of Hamadania Sports City in Aleppo, Syria. Construction began in 1980, stalled repeatedly for financial reasons and resumed before the stadium opened on 3 April 2007. Syrian institutional reporting records about 53,000 seated places, while other contemporary and later official reports cite a 75,000-person overall capacity; those figures describe different capacity conventions and are not treated as interchangeable. The original build was reported at SYP 1.4 billion, about USD 28 million at the source-stated equivalence. The stadium later suffered extensive war damage and a December 2024 fire, and remains in need of comprehensive rehabilitation.
