How much did Amerant Bank Arena cost to build?

Amerant Bank Arena is a Broward County-owned indoor arena in Sunrise, Florida, and the home of the NHL's Florida Panthers. The 872,000-square-foot venue was delivered on a 26-month fast-track schedule for the 1998 hockey season and currently seats up to 19,250 for hockey or 20,000 for basketball, family shows and concerts. Broward County's auditor reported an approximate construction cost of USD 191.4 million, distinguishing it from the County's original USD 184.7 million financing approval and a later USD 6.7 million completion-financing increase caused by cost overruns. The arena began operating in fall 1998, was renamed Amerant Bank Arena in 2023 and remains an active sports and entertainment venue.
