How much did AT&T Stadium cost to build?
AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, opened in May 2009 as the new home of the Dallas Cowboys. The retractable-roof venue has 80,000 standard seats, with temporary configurations for larger crowds, and its public opening preceded both the first concert in June and the team's first regular-season NFL game in September. Arlington voters had backed an original USD 650 million stadium estimate in 2004, with the city's construction contribution capped at USD 325 million. The project grew considerably: the Cowboys and NFL later reported a cost around USD 1.3 billion, while a 2011 city-hosted retrospective gave a narrower USD 1.17 billion final total. These published figures should not be confused with the city's financing or later debt-service costs.
