How much did Atanasio Girardot International Bridge cost to build?
The Atanasio Girardot International Bridge, originally called Las Tienditas, links Colombia's Villa del Rosario area with Pedro Mar?a Ure?a in Venezuela across the T?chira River. The crossing consists of three parallel structures for vehicles and pedestrians, roughly 280 metres long. Both governments announced an equal-share USD 32 million investment when work formally began in January 2014. Colombia's transport ministry later reported about COP 119.369 billion invested in the completed bridge and said construction ended in 2016. Diplomatic tensions kept it out of public service until 1 January 2023, when cross-border passenger and freight traffic finally began.
