What was the design-build budget for replacing both Kosciuszko Bridge spans?
New York replaced the old Kosciuszko crossing over Newtown Creek with two cable-stayed spans. The state transportation department described the opening of the second span in August 2019 as part of an $873 million design-build construction project. That figure covers both replacement spans, not the $555 million first-phase contract alone or the separate park beneath the bridge.
