How much project funding did DC identify for the Frederick Douglass Bridge replacement and corridor works?
Washington, DC replaced its aging South Capitol Street crossing of the Anacostia River with the three-arch Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge. At the September 2021 ribbon-cutting, the District identified $440 million in federal and local funding for the bridge-replacement project, which also included surrounding South Capitol corridor works. That amount is funding for the broader project, not an audited bridge-only construction outturn.
