Stadium 路 United States

How much did Bank of America Stadium cost to build?

Bank of America Stadium opened in Charlotte in 1996 as Ericsson Stadium, built as a football venue for the Carolina Panthers. A stadium-financing comparison commissioned for the City of San Diego puts the original 1996 construction cost at $248 million in nominal dollars, with an inflation-indexed 2011 comparison shown separately. The Panthers list 75,037 seats, although event-specific capacities vary. Charlotte FC has also played there since 2022. A much later, multi-year modernization is a distinct project: the stadium owner said in July 2026 that its expanded renovation investment would exceed $1.3 billion, including a fixed $650 million city commitment.
