How much did Beijing Daxing International Airport cost?
Beijing Daxing International Airport opened south of Beijing in September 2019 after construction began in December 2014. Its first phase includes four runways and a 700,000 m? terminal designed for 72 million annual passengers. China's 2014 approval allocated CNY 79.98 billion to airport works, separately from air-traffic-control and fuel facilities. A 2020 completion document from the airport builder reports approximately CNY 80 billion of actual investment in those airport works. A broader CNY 120 billion figure reported in 2019 is not directly comparable without a reconciled project scope.
