How much did the expansion of Bescot Stadium cost?

Bescot Stadium is the home ground of Walsall Football Club in the West Midlands. Built by GMI Construction in 1989–1990, it replaced nearby Fellows Park and opened on 18 August 1990. Stadium specialist StadiumDB reports about £4.5 million as its 1990 construction cost; no accessible original contract or audited final account was found, so the amount remains a reported historical figure rather than a certified outturn. The current 11,300-seat capacity reflects later changes to the ground, notably the 2002–2003 expansion of its home end, and should not be mistaken for the opening-day capacity. The stadium has also been known by sponsorship names including Banks's, Poundland and Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.
