How much did Bolshoy Ice Dome cost to build?
Bolshoy Ice Dome is the 12,000-seat hockey arena in Sochi's Olympic Park. The venue operator says it was commissioned in January 2013, hosted the 2013 IIHF World U18 Championship and the main ice-hockey matches of the 2014 Winter Olympics, and became HC Sochi's home arena in 2014. Its nine levels cover 96,155 square metres, with movable seating and an LED roof shaped to evoke a frozen drop. A 2007 Russian government programme assigned RUB 5.735 billion to the arena itself, including design and on-site networks; a later independent Sochi Olympics spending study reported a roughly USD 302 million total in 2013-price dollars. Those figures are different kinds of claims, not a documented cost overrun calculation.
