What was the original budget of Brentford Community Stadium?
Brentford Community Stadium, now named Gtech Community Stadium, is Brentford FC's 17,250-seat football ground beside Kew Bridge in west London. Main stadium building work began in early 2018; the club announced completion and safety certification in August 2020, and its first match there was a behind-closed-doors friendly on 1 September 2020. In the 2014 planning viability case, stadium construction was estimated at over GBP 71 million, excluding land. This was a pre-construction projection, not a verified final account, and it should not be confused with the much larger housing-led regeneration scheme around the venue. The completed stadium later hosted matches during the 2022 Women's European Championship.
