How much did Brick Community Stadium cost to build?
The Brick Community Stadium is a 25,138-capacity football and rugby league ground in Wigan's Robin Park. Built by Alfred McAlpine as the JJB Stadium, it first hosted Wigan Athletic against Morecambe on 1 August 1999 and had its formal opening against Manchester United three days later. Contemporary reporting described it as a roughly GBP 30 million new stadium; that is a reported original construction price, not a published audited final account or its later property value. Wigan Athletic and Wigan Warriors still share the ground, which carried the DW Stadium name from 2009 until it was renamed for local charity The Brick in May 2024.
