How much did Queensland State Netball Centre cost to build?
The Queensland State Netball Centre is an eight-court indoor sports complex in Nathan, Brisbane, with a 5,000-seat show court used by the Queensland Firebirds. Construction began in 2017 after Hansen Yuncken was appointed to design and build the venue; it opened on 24 February 2019 and gained the Nissan Arena commercial name later that year. The Queensland Government and Netball Queensland described the completed facility as a roughly AUD 44 million project, funded by AUD 34 million from the state and AUD 10 million from the Australian Government. The separately funded adjacent park-and-ride car park was not included in the venue figure. This operating netball centre is not the separate city-centre arena once proposed for the 2032 Olympics.
