How much did the expansion of Britannia Stadium cost?
Stoke City moved from the Victoria Ground to the new Britannia Stadium in 1997. The ground staged its first competitive match against Rochdale on 27 August, then Sir Stanley Matthews performed the formal opening before the first league match on 30 August. Now called bet365 Stadium, it was expanded in 2017 with a new south-east corner stand and accessibility upgrades; that later contract is separate from the original construction cost. Its post-expansion football capacity is listed as 30,089 seats.
