How much did the refurbishment of Bruce Nuclear Generating Station cost?

Bruce Nuclear Generating Station is an operating eight-reactor CANDU nuclear site on the eastern shore of Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada. It consists of two separate four-unit stations, Bruce A and Bruce B, originally developed by Ontario Hydro. Bruce A construction began in 1969 and its units entered service from 1977 to 1979. Bruce B construction began in 1976 and its final unit entered service in 1987. Those historical construction projects must be distinguished from Bruce Power's later reactor restarts and life-extension refurbishments. The playable cost here is the original construction cost reported for Bruce B alone, not for all eight reactors or any subsequent refurbishment. Historic Ontario Hydro figures are reproduced in a Pembina Institute research report: CAD 5.994 billion for Bruce B versus a CAD 3.929 billion 1976 release estimate; Bruce A has a separately reported CAD 1.8 billion construction cost. These are nominal historical Canadian-dollar claims, not present-day prices. Bruce Power described the site as capable of 6,550 MW of peak output in 2025; this is a site-wide operating capability, not Bruce B's standalone rating.
