What initial first-phase investment did China approve for Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in 2016?
Chengdu Tianfu International Airport is a new airport in Jianyang, Sichuan. China's National Development and Reform Commission approved CNY 71.864 billion of investment for its first phase in April 2016, including CNY 51.18 billion for airport works plus air-traffic control, fuel and airline-base components. That is the original approved investment, not a final construction account. The first phase opened on 27 June 2021 with three runways and two terminals; a later Xinhua report described its then-current estimated total investment as more than CNY 75 billion, a lower bound rather than an exact cost.
