How much did Eads Bridge cost to build?
The Eads Bridge is the steel and cast-iron tubular arch bridge of three spans, the main span 158 m, across the Mississippi River at St. Louis, Missouri, designed by James B. Eads, a National Historic Landmark and the first major bridge to use steel as a main structural material, dedicated on 4 July 1874. English Wikipedia says the cost of building the bridge was nearly 10 million dollars, and the Illinois State Museum's river history notes that the two approaches alone cost about 1 million.
