How much did Félou Hydroelectric Plant cost to build?
The Felou Hydroelectric Plant is the 60 MW run-of-the-river hydropower plant on the Senegal River in Mali about 200 km downstream of Manantali, sponsored by Mali, Mauritania and Senegal through the OMVS and overseen by SOGEM, built by Sinohydro under a design-and-build contract, with its interconnection completed in July 2013 and performance testing in April 2014. The World Bank's Independent Evaluation Group review of the 3A-WAPP APL 2 (OMVS Felou HEP) project says the cost at completion was about 201 million dollars, against 125 million at appraisal in 2006 and 241 million at the 2009 restructuring.
